Bronx Museum & Civics Fair

ree

The City Island Nautical Museum participated in the Bronx Museum & Civics Fair on Wednesday, June 4. The event was held at Mercy University on Waters Place in the Bronx, NY. Museum administrator Rob Leavy and consultant Monica Glick spoke with attendees including School Superintendents, teachers, and students.

While showing many of the museum videos on a loop at the booth, they also displayed a model representing the thousands of ships built on City Island throughout the years, and a cannon ball from the Revolutionary War which was found in someone’s backyard on Winters Street on City Island. (YOU can see the cannon ball in our Community Room.)

School leaders and teachers expressed interest in bringing students to the museum, as well as holding professional development days there.
